Proenza Schouler's homage to New York
Three words to describe the show? "New York City" is the neat, concise reply from Jack McCollough and Lazato Hernandez, the creative duo who have have transformed Proenza Schouler from avant-garde fashion to stars and stripes.
Thanks to their collection-collision of inspiration from art to music and reality. With the choice to move to Paris, with a space during the Haute Couture shows. Brave. Just like the brave farewell show in the Big Apple, the inspiration behind the show. "No weakness, but strength." the two designers tolf MFF backstage after the show which opened to the sounds of Sonic Youth. Oversize shapes with masculine coats. A flash of a logo, on a ribbon with a sporty edge. Dresses in shiny leather - "A bit trashy". Mixing artistic themes of dresses in movement with brushstrokes of color, in silhouettes that are always unbalanced: an asymmetric double layered sleeve. "Nothing is always perfectly in the middle."
